Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Ifscape (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use the Ifscape iPhone app and the website at ifscape.com.
Ifscape is a glass camera app. You place a glass-made object in front of a live scene or photo and capture both in one picture. We design the product so core capture stays on your device whenever we can.
1. Summary
- No Ifscape account is required to use the app or browse the website.
- Camera and photo access are used for preview, capture, import, and saving — not for ads.
- Basic capture and most glass objects are processed on your iPhone.
- Some optional Plus features may upload an image to our servers for processing. The app discloses this before or when you first use those features (details below).
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the app today.
- The website counts visits with a cookieless analytics service. That service does not run in the app.
2. Information we use in the app
2.1 Camera
With your permission, Ifscape uses the camera to show a live preview and to capture photos. Camera frames are processed on your device for preview and capture. We do not stream your live camera feed to our servers for basic capture.
2.2 Photos and your library
Ifscape may:
- Save photos you capture to your Photo Library when you choose to save (add-only access).
- Let you import a photo or image through the system photo picker for composition.
Imported and captured images stay on your device unless you use an optional cloud feature described below. We do not use your photos for advertising.
2.3 On-device preferences
The app stores small local settings on your device (for example, whether you have confirmed an optional upload prompt). These preferences stay on the device and are not a user profile on our servers.
2.4 Optional cloud features
Some optional features may send an image to Ifscape servers so we can process it and return a result. Today that includes features such as:
- Style glass — generates a styled glass result from a photo you choose.
- Recognition tags — for example calorie or vocabulary tags based on a photo you shoot or select.
How we tell you before upload differs by feature:
- Style glass shows a confirmation alert. Upload starts only after you confirm.
- Recognition tags show a first-use notice that the photo will be uploaded for recognition and will not be stored as a personal gallery on our servers. After that notice, the recognition request proceeds as part of the capture flow.
When you use these features:
- A processed copy of the image (often resized) is sent to our API (currently hosted on Cloudflare Workers under domains such as
pane.ifscape.com). - We use the image to return the feature result to your device.
- We do not keep a personal photo library of your uploads on our servers for browsing later.
- Upstream model or hosting providers may process the request as needed to produce the result. We do not control their independent retention beyond our own service design.
2.5 Install identifier (rate limiting)
For Style glass requests, the app may create a random install ID (UUID) stored in the device Keychain and send it with the request (for example as x-install-id). This helps limit abuse and rate-limit style generation. It is not your Apple ID, name, or email, and it is not used for advertising. Recognition-tag requests do not currently use this install ID.
2.6 Purchases (Ifscape Plus)
Ifscape Plus purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit / the App Store. Apple handles payment details. We receive purchase or entitlement status needed to unlock Plus features and to restore purchases. We do not receive your full payment card number.
Apple’s privacy practices also apply to App Store transactions. See Apple’s privacy policy for payment processing.
2.7 Support email
If you email us for support (including via the in-app contact link to [email protected]), we will receive whatever you include (such as your email address and message). The in-app contact flow may include app version and iOS version in the draft email so we can help you faster.
3. This website
The marketing site at ifscape.com is a static site. It does not require an account and does not set an Ifscape login cookie for browsing.
The website loads a cookieless analytics script from Umami (cloud.umami.is) so we can see how the site is used. It records the page viewed, referring site, browser, operating system, device type, and an approximate location derived from the IP address. Umami does not use this for advertising, and the script is not included in the iPhone app.
Our host (Cloudflare) may collect standard server logs for security and reliability — for example IP address, request URL, user agent, and timestamps. We use these logs to operate and protect the site, not to build advertising profiles.
4. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide camera preview, capture, import, save, and glass composition features.
- Run optional cloud features you request.
- Prevent abuse and enforce rate limits.
- Unlock and restore purchases.
- Respond to support requests.
- Operate, secure, and improve the website and app.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share limited information with service providers who help us run the product, such as:
- Cloudflare (website hosting, Workers API, and related infrastructure).
- Umami (cookieless visit counts for the website only).
- Apple (App Store distribution and in-app purchases).
- Model or AI infrastructure reached through our cloud pipeline when you use an optional cloud feature.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users and the service.
6. Retention
- Photos and preferences on your device remain under your control (and your device backups).
- Optional cloud requests are processed to return a result; we do not operate a long-term personal gallery of your uploads.
- Hosting and security logs are kept only as long as needed for operations and security.
- Website visit counts are kept by Umami for a limited period and are not tied to an Ifscape account.
- Support emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to a small product, including HTTPS for network requests. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
8. Children
Ifscape is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
9. Your choices
- You can deny or revoke camera and photo permissions in iOS Settings.
- You can choose not to use optional cloud features.
- You can manage or cancel App Store subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.
- You can contact us to ask questions about this policy.
10. International processing
Our hosting and processing providers may operate in multiple regions. If you use optional cloud features or visit the website, your information may be processed outside your country of residence.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use of the app or website after an update means you accept the revised policy.
